So I've now lost all my ChatGPT chats? Or did they hide them? I see some of them, but the history is inaccessible??

Edit: I found them back in the 'classic' version of the app. Wildly confusing what is going to happen to the data there, chats, projects, custom GPT's.

This is going to be fun tomorrow when everyone at the company I work at finds out all their chats, projects and GPT’s are ‘gone’ after they ‘update’. And not a word about this switcheroo ‘data loss’ in their comms. Wow.

Thanks, they definitely also belong on that list.

Worrying for sure. But I doubt the current USA, along with Israel and Russia are going to be bothered about this. Everyone is launching satellites and other gear into orbit for war.

Plenty of people still work at Meta and are applying. Trying to get the good money, Meta on the CV, move on to another overpaying tech co, grind a few years and never have to work again.

Indeed. This works much better and faster than the mcp route.

I’m a big fan of the Compound Engineering plugin from Every. As an amateur developer it helps me brainstorm, plan and implement apps very well.

I mean its a start to getting something to market? It just looks way behind the chinese models that are being delivered.

That’s also going to be limited most likely. I don’t like governments deciding who can have the best products. I can’t shake the feeling there is money changing hands for getting on the access list as well with this administration.

Meanwhile NATO just switched over to a full Palantir system (MSS), and thus sharing everything with the USA, while several European countries are removing Palantir interference. This is going great.

Why would Sam go? He has the political power of this administration on his side. Far more than Elon, who is working hard to get it back through SpaceX military contracts. Anthropic has very little political sway, which is why they are in trouble now. OpenAI might wait to see if this government will destroy Anthropic’s chances in the USA. Then Sam could become the only player.

Is this a fabrication to justify the blocking after the fact?

Imagine the weaponization possibilities when combining the census data with Amazon’s and Meta’s data, and possibly several other datasets readily available to this administration. Whatever is missing from one of them can be inferred or defined from the others. This might already be happening, it can’t be checked. Some (former) dictators would be salivating.

"it’s proof that the rot has been rooted out of Apple’s software design team"

Weird sentence given that three staunch supporters of liquid glass are still in that team, including Lemay. I highly doubt it's going anywhere, hopefully it gets a few more improvements before it will be replaced for The New Thing in MacOS 29.

Steve Lemay was a driving supporter of liquid glass, just like at least 2 other remaining designers at Apple. It's not going anywhere. Hopefully it will get toned down several times over though.

That is true.

I thought this was funny to see as well, although these icons redesigns happen with every MacOS release I think: https://basicappleguy.com/basicappleblog/macos-golden-gate-i...

A good correction. But think about the months of work that has been wasted on creating those icon iterations. What a waste!

Well sort of? The more right-wing we vote, the more room corporations and their cronies get.

Speed, UI improvements, esp in the backend. Vimeo has been languishing for years. If this was all done by the original team, I wonder why they didn't roll it out years earlier. I've switched several clients away because of it.

While I'm not a huge fan of the Bending Spoons model, Vimeo sure got improved quickly.
