I think you're right and that there should be some pain. My version of this is taking a full list of transactions and tagging them individually from electronic exports. This way any expense isn't reconciled until it's tagged. This can be done mostly automatically but some are unrecognized/unique expenses. The unrecognized are the ones that probably matter the most in terms of managing my finances, dinning out, random items from amazon, etc. I have to review and recognize everything which makes me monitor the most important aspects where I might have spent my money poorly.
Pareto principle
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareto_principle
(also known as the 80–20 rule, the law of the vital few, and the principle of factor sparsity) states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes
If you are both capable enough cooks, what are you cooking regularly at the moment that takes a lot of time, > 1 hour? I cook most of my own meals and have over time found dishes that are enjoyable, healthy, cheap, and don't take too long to prepare or clean up afterwards. I usually revolve around pastas, meats with sides of vegtables, curries and a few others.
Where were you driving taxis? I was reading your comment expecting "I quit because I moved on to another profession" or anything else that wasn't taxi drivers getting killed.
Apparently St. Ives isn't the best thing for your face. "First, stop using St. Ives Apricot Scrub!!! The particles are large, non-uniform, sharp, and too abrasive to be suitable for facial use." from reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction beginners guide (link below) I used that stuff at one point also. I haven't bought it in a while, I've just been using regular soap and then moisturizing after showering. I've been considering starting a routine like the reddit sub describes.
"reposition it so that my browser and finder are both visible, with the "drop area" visible as well"
You can grab a file then Cmd(or Alt probly)+tab back to your browser window and drop the file.
Don't get me wrong I don't like drag and drop interfaces for the most part. If you do have the folder open you are working on in the background, drag and dropping different files can be quicker than using a choose file dialog.
Sorry I wasn't thinking and posted the reply before I was finished by mistake. I think the lack of specific meaning for "Lob" or association with anything in particular is beneficial enough to put aside the strangeness of it.
How does netprint.io make sense? It's 10 characters and lob.com is 6? Am I missing some thing? Lob.com or even just "Lob" by itself I don't think conjures a particular image in most peoples mind. I think they can take this and make it their own thing. Then again "Lob" is weird, we'll see I guess. I do like netprint.io tho, it just isn't quite as memorable/kind of generic.
