You got it totally wrong, I think you need to understand me better. I'm like the internet special forces on the harsh battlefield of the hn forum -- I dodge incoming bullets of political correctness, I roll away from bombs of guidelines of politeness designed to silence discourse, I shoot my enemies with a rifle designed to make them look stupid, I effortlessly lob grenades made of nothing but words, I pick up random wounded allies and I inspire others to keep going. I run faster and faster until momentum gathers and based upon nothing but air I cause the laws of probability to crash and I do it for no benefit to myself -- ok maybe there is some benefit for me ;)
My only fault is that I slay my enemies too efficiently, I had an excellent sparing partner. I will extend an olive branch and make it easy for you. I lied about donating to Terry
You sure like to put words in other people's mouth ;) Please tell me exactly what I'm thinking and what I meant -- I'm burning with curiosity at this point. And maybe together we can iteratively refine it.
But there is value compared to these you list. I respect them but I also think they are foolish to disregard their lives. What was once a person becomes rotting meat. Some people will grieve, others will write eulogies, some will will glorify them to serve some agenda, and others who don't care for such things will treat this for what it is probes and sensors that gave one more piece of hard won information that can maybe be somehow utilized -- maybe it's bad to think like this, so it's important to keep going with good humor.
There is a asymmetry of how they percieve the world and you do -- the difference in available information might not be able to let them make choices that would satisfy your standards.
I agree. But I think the value these biases actually provide in helping to understand what is going are more limited than people make them out to be. It's much more powerful to simply internalize the worldview of somebody who knew what they were doing, or several of them -- you're not starting from scratch and you're not using models like a dictionary without knowing how to write.
It's always fun to learn about the workings of small systems that have such disproportionate effects on larger systems -- the random articles and comments flowing through HN gave me a better education than what I got in public schooling and university.
Does this work for governments? If USG launches TrumpChain -- I bet TrumpCoin is taken -- will it save America from becoming a laughing stock for the idk -- like the next 20 years? Will Chinese crypto investors buy in or will they prefer to spend their money within a economy that will probably dominate the rest of this century?
People have the mistaken belief that the ideal possible world is actually one with no pain. The best solution possible with finite resources is maybe somewhere short of the the best you imagine -- to live is to suffer as they say.
You had shitty leaders I'm sorry about that, but maybe they were trying their best in a difficult situation -- it's probably not all fun choices. Or maybe they were just assholes -- updated.
I do not disagree with you on the "why" -- as Grove said I want to know how? You assume that each person can be trusted to figure this out for themselves -- maybe some people can be, but if you look at the entire population you will end with a distribution where more and more force will need to be used to coerce the fringe elements into compliance -- these fringes can destabilize the entire equilibrium since it might snow ball out of control as more and more people pile on seeing the benefits that it brings.
Yes I was referring to Rakuten -- there are a few more minor players. I'm working off limited data here -- so forgive me for using heuristic estimates. But yes, what are the odds of overcoming that advantage in your opinion? Japan is a odd case and extremely difficult to penetrate for outsiders, that level of insulation doesn't weight the odds in Amazon's favor or anybody else's coming in from the outside.
I refuse to jump on board with micro services based on faith. Docker/k8s are not free actions, in fact you will probably pay dearly using them in a inappropriate context.
Top choice based on a search with finite resources, maybe there is a better top choice if they spend a bit more time -- one that is also more agreeable. I'll return with a question -- Is resisting temptation the path of least resistance? What are the odds that the personality trait you describe also overlaps with the person being in a position of enough authority to actually matter?
Nothing firm yet, I really would have to take a look at the data closely. This looks like a practical implementation of the semantic web. You caught me on short notice, I'm going to have to think a bit harder :) This gives me more options and very useful ones at that, since data is a bitch to get -- pardon my language.
