not so much ASICs but there are some very promising advances in photonic systems and NDRAM. Stay tuned.

Have you ever heard the phrase, "shutting the barn door after the horses are gone" ?

This concern should be dealt with before leaking IP into the hands of the model owners.

It is a reasonable expectation that those owners will apply the same attitude to IP rights of the users of thd models that they have demonstrated during the training of those same models... that is to say, the willing disregard of anyone's IP in pursuit of their own enrichment.

It would seem that responsible protection of internal IP requires using hardware you own or at least fully control from the bare metal layer up, running models trained or distilled from public datasets which have been rigorously protective of privage IP rights.

or we can just all give up on the idea of knowledge and intellectual concepts as having any inherent limitability... our ideas are not 'the moat'.

The manner in which we engage with our customers will be the real moat. If anyone can recreate our software by asking the model to do the work, what is left for any business to differentiate from those copies becomes the ability to maintain a community of users/customers/participants.

below and penetrating the water table with the potential for short and long half-life transuranic fissile products and a path of least resistance for any runaway conditions which is directly to an uncontained well head... with the extra bonus of installation proposed in 'spent' hydrocarbon bearing regions which implies reduced density substrates with all the tiny seismic outcomes and risks.

Dude, you work at Facebook, and you're surprised and/or expect us to be outraged to discover that it is a toxic workplace. Surprise! The work culture at a company that is an active driver of intentional enshittification of human culture since literally the whole time, is terrible. Do yourself a favor and quit. or do the rest of the world a favor and rm -rf / the whole stack.

This. All day long.

Code was never the scarce resource. Your neighbors' nephew could code a working website that would service the corner shops needs since ten years ago.

The value is and always will be the support and community behind the code.

HN isn't valuable because of a code repo, but because of the community of users and a steady hand cultivating the continued participation thereof. But this too has no real moat, something could change the zeitgeist and tomorrow it joins friendster and TheGlobe.com

"being an island" doesnot, in fact, make it easier to inhibit smuggling. One reason, the sheer number of small, unstaffed seaports and the volume of small fishing vessel traffic does in fact make it easier for unobserved ingress of materials under the guisd of small commercial and noncommercial fishing and small to midsize shipping. (see Scotland as major import of currently illicit drugs and undocumented refugees)

Adding another globally common and less regulated substance to the list of extrajudicial desireables simply equals a performance bonus and being low aquisition risk (already shipping other goods from places that grow tobacco and make cigs) as an incentive for the already very profitable and active operators of these networks.

From my perspective this would simply make being a smuggler easier and more profitable and be a value uplift for corrupt enforcement and a net reduction in collectable taxes... moving the revenue from comsumption tax books to black market coffers.

I think at this point in time, imperfect but real is more acceptable to this crowd than machine translation pseudoprose.

It's unfortunate when self-declared founders think they just need a developer to 'embody' the product they dreamt up... it's also unfortunate when the dev who is the one capable of delivering a product lets themself be treated like a cog instead of acting as a driver.

It sounds like the CTO should have been hired as a tech trainer for the existing CTO == you.

I see it again and again in early enterprise. When a dreamholder feels underpowered at the real task of delivering product, thdy build layers of admin to lower the product delivery team, burn through CapEx and OpEx and label that 'growth' and eventually the % promise is worthless.

Production teams beware of founders who just need a dev and not a team of partners. Ego > Ability & Manipulation skill instead of leadership capability.

Reading a large codebase...perhaps if it is not too large. Understanding... why a tool exists, what is the motivation for its design, what the external human systems requirements for successful utilization of the internal facing tools... especially when that knowledge exists only in the memories of a few developers and PMs... not so much. Deep domain expertise is a long way from AI capability for effective replacement.

Except for the fact that the application paperwork requires disclosure of assets, even an insurable collection qualifies against a 'lack of income', and will need to be declared. Failure to disclose risks committing fraud, subject to recovery of assistance and prosecution. So, no, not really.

Im seeing similar 'You have used 90%' and 'No more free messages' after 1 to 5 prompts on the free web plan during about that same timeframe. It did give a timeout duration of several hours and then reoccured after the time had passed. That it also happens to a paid plan is not encouraging.
