India vedas talk about “varna” - class system based on ability & skills, not caste system. Modern Indian caste system was introduced by British to divide and conquer. Economist with a long history of Hindu phobia and in the vein of colonial British rake it up every now and then. Caste comes from Spanish casta, no equivalent term exists in sanskrit for this.

The problem is not the browser, but a lazy mgmt. Selling user privacy to Google for easy money instead of asking users to either pay for ensuring their privacy. But that will take real work instead of easy “royalty” payments from Google.

Between telemetry, safe browsing, sqlite database with all sites you visited & gvfs they siphon off some serious data. So bad for privacy but snappy otherwise, particularly the new versions. MDN is pretty good too, but they chopped off their tech team to “save money” for a top heavy mgmt team.

You are absolutely spot on. Big tech snuffs out anything contrary to globalism and wokeism. Few days back I mentioned the shift in govt focus to “domestic terrorism” vs the “jihadi terrorism”, the comment was taken out on HN.

While at the same time big tech acts as activist and cheerleader for “domestic terrorists” in India. Supporting a Jan 6 style riot to overturn thr Modi govt disguised as now 18 month long “farmer protest” funded by western globalists.

Bottom line it does not matter what the issue is, the big tech including HN does not tolerate dissenting voices at all - particularly if they are articulate. Let us see how long this comment lasts- 2 mins max.

Bud, seems you did npt get tne memo. Taliban and JIhadist are our new friends "businesslike & professional". "Domestic Extermist" are the new priority as per Bush; Aussie New World Order and super aggressive Aussie lock down police units.

Most of these folks are already cancelled, lack real social media accounts(Gettr & Gab) don't count.

So mass survelliance becomes pointless. The new targets nostly live in trailer parks, nature reserves and can be easily tackled by neighbourhood watch & police.

Nihilistic post. Sure email standard has issues outlined. But given the recent Aussie laws and general political climate using plain text email is asking for trouble. I think Tutanota has done end rub around all these issues. Been using for few months and works well. AES, encryption at rest, plain email and shared passwords too. But given the EU tech law trend towards increased sifting through communication they are being and will be targeted. While Proton gets all the publicity but I feel they have better offering, including clients on all platforms.

Long time FastMail user. Never got a straight answer on privacy so moved to Tutanota for now. Much better, end to end encryption- nice clients too.

FastMail seems to have automated default address collection, backup of drafts & deleted email, ability to archive email. With no at rest encryption this could be possibly used for data mining too.

This new law is the last straw. So far they have not bothered to address the issue. Till few years back FM used to be awesome but feel they have not moved with time.

I have Tutanota to be quite reliable end to end encryption and no ip logging. Also provides ability to send encrypted mail with pre shared passwords. Good client apps too.

Given Protonmail trust issues Sir Lee ought to have avoided.

Signal mail service/client would be great too. Long time FastMail user but they too give fuzzy answers on mail privacy. Mailbox.org seems to be decent with encryption at rest.
