It took ~10 years for flexible screens using OLEDs to be mass producible. 10 years seems to be the norm as of now for things produced under research conditions to enter mass production/usage, are there counter examples?

I wonder at what point would it make sense to start exposing a part of your "software development pipeline" to the external world and then hiring people after they've proven themselves on your pipeline (with compensation). Think lambda school but for your own company.
For the purposes of fraud prevention, payment processors can be viewed as an escrow service (along with other things, of course). This can still be programmed on top of bitcoin, someone like amazon/eBay can build this escrow system and charge a fee.
