You don’t consider supporting “remigration”, aka forced expulsion of non-white-skinned people, to be actively malicious? What if he was physically going door to door and assaulting immigrants? Would that also be out of scope for you?

this argument assumes that capex and training costs will go down over time. but theyll have to keep up with one another and stay on top of latest knowledge so Im not sure if thats true

i dont think the blog is proposing a long-term criteria. the ugliness is funny and worth noting now because its currently happening and a great symbol of them pushing plainly horrible stuff down our throats

no, they’re not

i know what it means. you’re projecting something completely inappropriate, i’m guessing from your own life, onto the blogs criticism.

it is spiritually the same even if its not exactly the same

zuck is trying to push bad, ugly glasses to profit at the expense of causing nefarious social impact. the blog is mocking the ugliness of the glasses. it represents how out of touch zuck is. i’m not sure how you got to “four eyes” from there

I find it to be an acceptable use of mockery, one of the most powerful cultural methods of exposing that the emperor has no clothes

I must agree that is quite poorly phrased

So far Trump has overhauled/decimated our national health leadership; imposed large, arbitrary and volatile tariffs, including on our allies; emboldened immigration enforcement to brutalize and harass people based on their ethnic background; manipulated the stock market for the benefit of him and his cronies; started a war of choice with Iran which has caused an historic global energy shock; threatened to invade Greenland and Canada.

Do you consider this to be nondisruptive policymaking?

Do you consider this to be helpful to those close to you?

Ah, okay! Would you mind explaining what does "comparing wording, not exact text" mean?

This is one of the coolest tech things I've seen in a while. Can you explain how the "Check a document" works? I'm not sure I understand how you would check if the timing aligns based only on the text content.

If it works for you, and you can care about other people and yourself, then thats all that matters. I kind of dont believe that you truly reduce yourself as much as you claim you do

Theyre probably looking to get a way to slow down the capex required to keep up, so they can be more profitable

If someone really is nothing but a next thought prediction machine then they deserve pity because theyre a human who has been so abused that they forgot that theyre real

It’s likely that the cognitive functioning of the brain has a lot to do with prediction. But to reduce the conscious experience to that is incredibly sad, wrong and insulting, no matter how many people sign on to deny their own existence.

Me pitying you is both genuine and an insult, because you are insulting me and every other person with your dehumanizing theory, even if you don’t see it that way. People like you should be pitied so that their dehumanizing beliefs can be appropriately contextualized and discounted.

Ill leave it at that.

I wasn’t trying to attack you. I was genuinely telling you how shocking and sad I find your belief about yourself. If it has an air of hostility or condescension, its because you are dehumanizing yourself and every other person with that belief.

you must be trolling, so Im going to stop now. you are not criticizing israel by claiming that jewish stereotypes are true

Imagine that, instead of generating 50 tokens per second, we generated one token every year.

Imagine further that this token was computed by letting marbles fall down a piece of plywood and interact through various physical implementations of logic gates.

Reasoning ability has to be independent of consciousness because there are different levels of intellectual ability among people but everyone is equally conscious.

Chiang is very right in saying that the lesson of LLMs isn't that LLMs are conscious, but that there are broad areas of reasoning that apparently don't require consciousness.
