I think someone like Derek Sivers (maybe not actually him) talked about doing this. From what I remember, it was quite painful finding one who would agree to it, and was probably only possible because it was a stand out property.
This would likely be more difficult for an average person to pull off, but can be a great mutual win if you pull it off.
I actually dislike the rubber tips. The original AirPods fit my ear so well that I can shake my head without them coming loose, and comfortable to the point that I literally forget they’re there.
If they had better battery life, they’d be the perfect easy headphone.
There’s also a lot of politics involved. Fox News pundits are insisting the escalating seriousness of the coverage is a plot to make Trump look bad, and shouting about how influenza kills way more people, and it’s no big deal.
