If that is the point of the discussion, then it should not have been framed in terms of a claimed gender, with this tacit insistence that we are to all share in this delusion. To do so invites such feedback.

Transwomen aren't real women, and that includes Thea. I mean, it's in the word itself.

That's not to disparage Thea's work, which is both interesting and valuable. But this self-promotion as a woman is really quite absurd.

It reminds me of the recent Pwn2Own competition, where Alisa Shevchenko became the first woman to participate and win a category in the contest. Nevertheless, that didn't stop some people trying to claim that a transwoman, who had previously competed as a man, was somehow the first woman to do this. Alisa put them right and was pilloried for it: https://twitter.com/alisaesage/status/1381543050476838913

It's sad to see real women having their achievements downplayed or shoved aside like this, just to tickle the egos of men who don't feel comfortable being men, in this male-dominated space.

Interesting post, not a woman though.

Just a man in a frock, see: https://twitter.com/theavalkyrie/status/1124493829510447107

Let's not steal the achievements of real women by pandering to men playing dress-up.
