I have been using VoiceFlow. It works incredibly well and uses Groq to transcribe using the Whisper V3 Turbo model. You can also use it in an offline scenario with an on-device model, but I am mostly connected to the internet whenever I am transcribing.

I tried this prompt with all the major AI models that I know and have installed, and only GLM from Z.ai and Gemini 3 Flash could answer it. Even in that case, Gemini 3 Flash gave a bit more nuanced answer, but every other model like Claude Opus 4.5, Chat GPT, Grok - everything failed.

I really think Mathacademy has kinda cracked the pedagogy problem in the math space. I've been following Justin Skycak on X and love how they approach the perennial problem of learning outcomes in edtech . Check this out: https://www.justinmath.com/books/#the-math-academy-way

An activity or thing that holds deep meaning to you personally will be the stimulant to one's stamina. Love for your child will allow you to take care of him/her despite being insanely sleep deprived. I think the concept is much more broader than just work.

Can we please have a discussion based solely on the content of the article? I know we all hate Microsoft's business practices, but let's try to limit our tendency to turn the discussion into a typical Reddit-esque thread.

I'm aware of adding domains one by one, but I want to add some lists like Hagezi Threat Intelligence Feed which is not available in the blocklists, and these blocklists have >500k domain list.

I'm currently using Blocky as my DNS resolver. It works fine and is super fast because of the fine control over caching, but I'm disappointed with its memory footprint. 400MB for a total blocklist of 1.3M domains

my biggest gripe with NextDNS is not having an ability to add custom blocklists. I'd gladly pay for it even if there was a paid tier with this feature.

I've used NextDNS. Pretty handy. Just change DNS settings on devices with your NextDNS profile specific resolver address and you can see the logs of all websites accessed from each device.

Parental controls on Android are a bit more complicated and require another Google account. I'll take the latter route. I'll just install something like Firefox Focus, which clears browsing data on exit. It will help for one-off searches or an app that launches the browser for some process. I'm not sure if disabling the Play Store is a good idea. It might cause problems with updates. Right?

I keep coming back to the sites on my phone's browser. I have tried using various firewall applications to block network traffic. But it's hilariously easy to get around them.

Checkout this : https://controld.com/free-dns

I'm using Hagezi DNS Pro configuration.

DNS level ad blocking may help controlling a lot of system baked ads and trackers. Spend 30mins or something turning everything off from settings.

This has helped me on almost every kind of phone I've ever bought - I've mostly bought Chinese ones.

For me. It is for quickly jotting some idea or quick list. Never actually writing something meaningful on phone.

That's ultra cheap. $94 phone in my country. I won't be expecting a lot at that point.

- A virtual piano, or drum set. This would be fun. Even better if one can record the pattern and beats and replay them.

- A DVD logo bouncing effect across the screen (like in the Office). Fun little gimmick.

- Windows XP type Pinball game.

I'm trying to cut down on my phone (Android) usage, and so far I've found these steps to be really helpful

- A minimal launcher like OLauncher

- Obsidian for note taking.

- Syncthing-Fork to sync my notes and phone gallery with my computer.

- Local Send for file transfer between any device and OS.

- Readera for reading ebooks.

- Rethink DNS to firewall and selectively block internet for applications or domains.

  - This helps a lot, e.g. cutting off Telegram and WhatsApp's internet when I've gone for a walk and just want to listen to music, but don't want to be bombarded by texts or calls. People say you can mute or turn off notifications, but I still subconsciously open these apps and get distracted.
- Grayscale or reading mode to make the screen black and white. Makes the phone more conducive to reading.

- Newpipe for the occasional one-off YouTube video.

- Harmonic for hacker news. I've found many interesting articles and stories here.

This stopped for me ever since I disabled uBlock Origin after buying YouTube Premium. So maybe they are intentionally or unintentionally sabotaging video playback with adblockers.

This looks really interesting. I am not in North American region and hence this would be slow from my region. But nonetheless interesting project. Have you documented the entire setup journey on a blog or video?

I often use it for self controlling my Hacker News and Reddit addiction.
