At its core, creating a closed system for an open community is destructive. Even the fact that a "blurred" frequently used concept - meta - is chosen does not make him a leader. It seems to me that Mark missed this time.

Absolutely correct. I also predict this as well as the solution to the iPhone and its walled gardens [0]. Anyone who dislikes the Apple and Google 30% taxes will partner with Meta or the other metaverse-related companies.
I won't be surprised to see this challenge the iOS and Android (then soon Fuchsia) ecosystem of apps and games and to move to the metaverse-related companies accessed via some form of smart glassess.
They are first going to do this with games. Then the apps will follow and those apps will finally be built as PWAs.
It is a plan to challenge the iPhone and Apple's resistance to supporting PWAs on the App Store and Google's Play Store.
