Even a million is nothing. Insta and Twitter followers these days go for about $7 per 1000.

It doesn't cost $45B these days to be loved by a few bot accounts.

What he said in the interview was that back in the day the criminals that ran the industry actually liked music.

Now it's owned by Chinese technology companies, hedge funds, and regional telephone monopoly conglomerates and run by musically deaf accountants that only care about next quarters numbers.

Nothing reproduces the original signal, it's distorted by the inertia and impedance of the microphone and amplifier that recorded it.

As you know it's then passed through an ADC and stored as a sine wave, cause no one is mastering inaudible square waves on a reel for kitsch value.

If you're not passing your scratched to shit vinyl through a $20,000 tube amp and a Denon AKDL1 link cable you're not hearing the sound as the artist intended it.

>Digital is cold and thin compared to analog.

Claude Shannon emphatically disagrees. When sampling at twice the highest audible frequency they are mathematically equivalent.

G.fast is common in older blocks where rewiring with ethernet or fiber isn't feasible.

Paper slips signed by an independent observer and marked with indelible ink can be audited more easily by electoral participants than counting featureless stones in a bucket.

They have the added security feature of oily fingerprints containing unique DNA imprinted on them. It's customary in functioning democracies to not sequence fingerprints on a ballot paper, but theoretically it could be done.

I use PFSense and Snort at home and it's perfectly fine for the price I paid for it, but enterprise grade it ain't. I wouldn't use it to protect a network worth more than my beer budget.

I don't know what business you're in and maybe after a nightly tape backup there's nothing important for you to lose. Frankly that's most small businesses. But if you've got real trade secrets get a proper IDS/IPS before you regret it.

NSW "Clubs" ("Registered Club" or "RSL Club") are required by legislation to record entry. Pubs aren't, and nightclubs would only bother if they've had a major insurance claim and were trying to avoid hikes in their premiums.

What an "RSL Club" is, and the nexus of legislation and idiotic operational rules attached to their tax free status, can be a little too difficult to explain to an American. But operationally it's similar to a Native American reservation casino with the same negative social effects on the surrounding community.

This is basically a client stored proof of id card, the police and NSW govt retail offices verify identity with a separate system. The ServiceNSW app also has a system for the public to verify a digital license ("Check a license or credential" on the opening screen) with a QR code that can't be forged.

Going to the pub with a fake ID for an after school schooey is a right of passage in Australia, this is probably just a sneaky way of getting school kids into coding. It's not useful for anything else, anyone that needs to will verify a license properly.

Depending on the age of the car your skull could also be cored by the steering column like an apple.

In the 50's the industry propaganda, parroted by bought and paid for regulators, was that all people involved in an automobile collision were irresponsible drivers deserving of death and disfigurement. And especially so for the colored ones, they probably drove recklessly after stealing them. You can't trust the lot of 'em.
