It's useful to show the actual team that it's possible. From there, they can make the decision of whether to go the bun route with more information.

> I’m happy to explain why an essential app is worth your money

This is a podcast app. It's in no way essential, how did you use to explain this to your customers ?

So you think that it's mostly a lack of general "stamina" for actually doing things, over the lessening of abilities to do things ?

Very few, entreprise users (aka volume) will pay the license, hobbyists will pirate it if need be. AMD doesn't want to do support for the hobbyists for free, that's all.

From the way this is written, it's clear that the interview was not about "at work". If it was the interview would have stopped OP to say it after the first question, which obviously didn't happen.

If this is true, I hope AI exploit-finding will force the industry to harden itself against supply-chain vulnerabilities.

Of course, why didn't anyone think of that ? I bet if someone started to ship software that has no errors they'll make a huge amount of money, especially from all the people that are security-minded !

Please grow a brain.

Hardware is cheap ; human labor is not. Companies have figured out that the best way to extract monye from customers is to give them something that barely works now, rather then something that works great later.

>the question of model-level responsibility versus integration-level responsibility is a story I'll write separately

This guy blames everyone and everything but himself.

You are spam. It doesn't get any simpler than this.

This 5% increase is actually huge, because the amount of bitcoins in actual free float is very small. The same coins get traded over and over while the vast majority sits in cold storage. A 5% supply sell off would eat up all of the order books, and that's before everyone else starts selling off.

Do note that the selloff would be automatic, huge wallets are monitored 24/7.

If I was Satoshi, I would go a to big bank and sell the private key directly for huge discount. Still a billionaire, no trace.

>When you hear the first guitar note, stop the song, find the note on the guitar, and write it down.

OP, you should have mentionned the prerequisite of absolute pitch...

Would love to see how this has panned out 2 years down the line, to see if maintaining the AI code turned out to be a problem.

>Petrodollar hypothesis hasn't been a thing for decades.

https://www.wsj.com/finance/currencies/the-dominant-dollar-f...

80% of oil trade in 2023 in dollars. Mostly importantly, the gulf states do in exchange for US security guarantees, which Trump just blew up in spectacular fashion. Decades of Middle Eastern policy have just been undone because of the US half-committing to this war.

>1. It must increase the fitness of the organism that carries it, i.e. the likelihood of its carrier having descendants as compared to non-carriers

This isn't necessarily true. If you map out changes through the history of species, you'll find no significant changes but a lot of diversity for long periods, followed by big changes and low diversity for a short period. That's because during "abundant" times, the population will develop diversity as long as it doesn't significantly hinder reproductive rates. When an environnemental pressure comes up, the diversity dies down because the ones lucky enough to have adaptations that suddenly become useful and reproduce more.

So an animal might get a longer neck, but that doesn't significantly increase reproduction because food is aplenty. It's only when there's a drought that longer necks become an advantage and the trait is now selected for.

>technically speaking, if every household had solar panels and batteries it would not only be cheaper than the grid

Absolutely not, economies of scale. To say nothing of the cost incurred when an issue appears with your installation (lightning strike, water damage, etc) would be much higher.

>Everything feels hollow now

You need to figure that one out if you want to truly get out of this funk. The rest is secondary.

If you feel like you have "too much free time" and you need to occupy it to keep bad thoughts away, volunteer. Also hit the gym/a sport (padel seems to have taken off !)

> We, collectively, only have ourselves to blame, and now it's too late.

Can't believe I'm reading this. I don't want age verification at all, whether it's self-imposed or not. I should be free to use whatever tools I want however I want.
