> I really don't see a reason for inkjet printers to exist, I hope they will disappear from the market.

What's preventing the exact same thing happening to laser printers? You have to buy toner as well.

This is actually about software more than hardware. Richard Stallman's spark for founding the free software movement was being unable to modify his lab printer's source code to do what he wanted it to do.

A lot of us have been conditioned to think you "just can't" modify things like firmware, or OSes, (or increasingly in phones/tablets, user-space). But for Stallman's generation, hardware devices were 100% owned, repairable and hackable by their owners. Only software and the abuse of it could so comprehensively change a hardware device from something you obviously own, to something which in a real sense you don't control or even realistically own anymore. Apple is leading the charge in this as other companies itch to pile in.

Maybe. But the top 10% supports the current system politically, culturally, and intellectually. They are the bedrock on which rotting empire currently sits and intend to sit themselves until it falls apart. As such, I don't sympathise with Doctors/Accountants/etc being taxed out the ass when they as a class back every scheme, scam, and foreign war the mainstream media pitches this week.

Modern UI/UX design is mass-produced, homogenized rubbish. The cadres who have plunged us into this abyss of anti-usability can no more be relied upon to undo their mistakes than they could to come up with a usable design to begin with.

This would be something useful, so the committee won't have it.
