Not compared to the LLM flailing around doing the wrong thing

MCP is great for docs and stuff, also saves tokens and reduces errors if you have something complicated you're abstracting over

- agents have old/inaccurate knowledge and it's nice to have up to date docs: https://awslabs.github.io/mcp/servers/aws-documentation-mcp-...

- geting agents to do apple builds and stuff is much easier with: https://github.com/getsentry/XcodeBuildMCP

- also for searching stuff like pdfs/epubs it's nice to have a place that's easy/fast for an agent to go to: https://github.com/nburns/doc-search-mcp

none of these strictly requrie mcp, but it is still a useful abstraction/shared convention

yes but with a VPN to my seedbox, all the egress from the docker containers its running in goes through this: https://github.com/passteque/gluetun

the seedbox is through https://www.feralhosting.com used them for over 10 years now and they've been great (shared hosting so I have linuxbrew setup there, but no docker sadly)

I've had one running for over a year now, it's replaced my usage of regular torrent sites completely, there is a lot of junk, and it gets stale, but it's still a better experience than most of the public trackers out there IMO

And a lack of other good options, so anything other than a personal vehicle just doesn't compute for lots of people.

It's about the same size as an old f150 though

USPS can also make a list of every address, that's not possible generally with freeform text

Even if you put more on the rear you can still get 50% more options if you add a 3rd front cog.

It's not needed on everything but I really appreciate the extra options on my recumbent and touring bike.

A larger context window would be nice, the apple model on devices now is almost too small to do cool stuff with

I can’t quite imagine, even shipping on prem stuff is much harder than the cloud. Especially when people can mess with stuff

Just a guess: Harder to build and operate with more failure modes and less opportunity for intervention.

I studied computer science and mathematics, not software engineering

Could've used a better software engineering class but I use the more abstract knowledge regularly and I think it would be a disadvantage to strip that out and just go straight to "here's how to prompt"

Sorry if I'm straw manning your comment, I do think that the abstract stuff is more important than ever, and would also like to see more philosophy and such required for eng/science/math degrees.

Very funny that if you want to start a bot farm you also go and buy a bunch of random android devices.
