>were are not eugenysts or some crazy wackos

I, respectfully, disagree.

>we just take in account all possible issues with a severly disabled future person both for the surrouding people and themselves.

Following that "logic" we should euthanize every single human being because we don't know which bad things can happen to them. I mean who wants to suffer right? We can't allow for anyone to be a burden on anyone, it's not like we have any obligation for others.

Everything you said could be applied to everyone. Including you and me.

As you can see by the downvotes people don't actually care much about neither the people of colour that are used as cheap workforce and neither their own countrymen that lost their jobs or can't get a job because they were all transfered to other side of the world, based on a lie that it would economically advantageous to do so, aslong as they can afford their toys.

If it was something that involved POC in Europe or the USA, they would rush to their defence to earn their virtue points.

>What if the child matures and their parents die and there is no relatives to take care of them?

We have plenty of social structures to take care of them, and where there aren't we create them, but that is what should be done, and what we already do to orphans, sick people, etc. Why are people with DS different?

>But hey, the so called "free" Americans will know better. Sure.

I am European.

I am hoping that shipping costs skyrocket. Let's see how long they can cling to "third world people working in sweatshops earning miserable wages" still make it cheaper to produce everything in Asia instead of locally.

It's amazing how lots of things, such as research on anything that remotely touches Human Intelligence is considered "Eugenics", bad, fascist.

But killing the unborn is a-ok because they would "suffer", and the worst of all, they would be a burden on the parents who would not be able to continue their hedonistic lifestyles, they should be consuming stuff all the time, for the good of society! Now that is good and desirable.

Sick world

How does anyone even take journalists seriously? I could understand that you follow a specific person you believe to be fair and intelligent, but most news orgs are just a bunch of liers and propagandists, just look at the wave of "fact-checkers", from any side of the political spectrum.

When in doubt, a journalist is to be assumed to be a subversive lier until proven innocent.

These are the people who have as greatest award for excellency in their profession, the Pulitzer award, named after a notorious lier (Spanish–American War) and one of the creators of "yellow journalism".

I am all in for anything that makes people read, but I am not sure how useful it is for people who want nothing to do with Twitter, which from the link is not clear if you can use this tool without a twitter account.

Best of luck

>Where does such suicidal bravery come from?

If that is something you're interested in, you would probably enjoy reading Ernst Jünger's Storm of Steel. Make sure to read the 1929 version. I believe there is only one english translation, by Basil Creighton.

All the other editions available in the market are subsequent edits the author made, each one with a more pacifist tone, as the author got older.

How about we keep eating locally produced meat because it's healthy, far more than those "fake" meats that are no more than vegetable oils, estrogen from soy and the likes, and chemicals to add flavour, and instead reduce waste? Do you really think that the increase in vegetable prodution would not have any environmental impact? We grow them out of the air?

And ICE should continue to exist to make sure we stop at the border all those who break the law to try to entering a country. No country owes any right to foreigners to enter illegally. Let them fix their countries first :)

>This subject is appropriate for undergraduates who have the prerequisite experience. I know that the MIT have different standards than the rest of us, but how many students even meet this criteria?

What is the percentage of wrongful executions? And it says nothing about the pros and cons of the death penalty itself. We should always strive to improve the Justice system which should minimize any wrongful condemnation.

>particularly when it comes to minorities. Given how much they are so overrepresented in commiting crimes, I don't even know how you can minimize that beyond just keep improving the system, regardless of the sentence.

When the west does it → Colonization When the east does it → Charitable Chinese living to Communist ideals, totally not trying to subjugate a country economically when they can't pay back loans.

It's actually a bit of both.

It's funny how the most progressive ardent defenders of the prison system reform overlap with people who find funny that their political opponents get raped in prison...

Lot's of people said the same about the USA becoming economically independent of the all powerful British Empire. And yet the USA did it.

Alexander Hamilton's influence goes way beyond inspiring a ridiculous musical for an attempt to capture that historical personality and distort his positions so nobody would read his writings.

There is a vast difference between not being possible, and the interlopers we call "the elites" not wanting to do it because they have other interests that don't overlap with the Nation's interests.

Rehabilitation works for those handful of cases where a mother had to steal food to feed a baby, and wasn't a career criminal.

I don't have any hope nor interest in try to "rehabilitate" rapists, murderers or child molesters. I don't even want them locked up for life, that's a waste of money and isn't enough punishment. I want the problem solved, I want them to get the death penalty.

>To begin with, a fledgling industry in a developing country cannot compete with those of already industrialized countries >these countries are also forced into a position where they get stuck at the low end of the production value chain, selling raw materials, while buying processed goods from others (often the same role they were forcibly assigned when they were colonies

Basically what Friedrich List [1] wrote in 1841 [2], and being proven correct time and time again while we completely disregard it.

Now you can even go further and ask yourselves if what is happening in the West by moving all the factories and manufacturing to China and neighbouring countries isn't exactly like the Colonization of the Americas by the British.

It wasn't luck that made the USA Great. It was the best stock from Europe who come up with the American School [3], and we can now see the tragic consequences of abandoning it for "free" trade.

If a country imports manufactured goods and exports raw materials, it is a colony.
