"But history from things happening hundreds to thousands of years ago, predating modern media... sorry historians, it might as well be fiction."
What? I'm confused on what you're saying here. Are you stating there are no primary sources on history from more than a few hundred years ago? All history is made up? I'm sure there are poor quality historical articles, but I wouldn't go so far to call all history "fiction".
Be kind. Don't be snarky. Have curious conversation; don't cross-examine. Please don't fulminate. Please don't sneer, including at the rest of the community.
Comments should get more thoughtful and substantive, not less, as a topic gets more divisive.
Throwaway accounts are ok for sensitive information, but please don't create accounts routinely. HN is a community—users should have an identity that others can relate to.
In my experience with SNOW middle clicking on anything brings me to the page I want, but it removes the navigation bar from the side which makes it almost less than useless. And not to mention the weird thing where it kicks you out of a ticket after you put it in.
What kind of a question is that? The first and foremost function of HR is to protect the company, you have no reason to trust them. And who even has such a deep insight into the HR of a company at the time of your hiring that they decide whether to take the job or not based on that info?
Wow you're dumb as a box of rocks. Do you not remember the unmarked federal agents whisking away protestors? Or do you not have the nuance to understand the difference between protesting oppression and committing an act of sedition?
