Call it a “cryptocurrency” if that makes it sound sexy, but this is still centralized — it’s effectively the same as the (already existing) Messenger Payments.

Stefan Rudnicki (the narrator) is an absurdly good narrator. He regularly narrates the Lightspeed Magazine podcast, a sci-fi short story podcast, if that perchance interests you.
These kinds of efforts seem to be having great success not just in Australia but at least in the United States[1] as well.
What I don't understand is -- why isn't a similar education, advertising, and taxation effort being made with alcohol? The negative externalities associated with alcohol are mind-boggling[2].
This is cool, but I wish coincap.io was more transparent about their data sourcing. Which exchange(s) is/are they sourcing from? This data can't be coming from ShapeShift (the owners of coincap.io), since prices on coincap.io are in USD while you cannot trade in fiat whatsoever on Shapeshift.
Dropbox does not cooperate well with symlinks. For instance, if you create a symlink in your Dropbox folder to My Documents on Windows, the Dropbox folder will duplicate the My Documents files. Takes up twice the space.
