I didn't fully realize how much pain there was until I started delegating the coding to AI. It's very freeing. Unfortunately I think this will soon lead to mass layoffs.
Interesting article. I enjoyed watching that movie not too long ago which made it even better.
A small correction:
In the picture of the reddit co-founders the caption is incorrect, it says "reddit co-founders (right to left) Alexis Ohanian, Aaron Swartz, and Steve Huffman in 2005". It should be "left to right".
My mom was born in 1939 in France. She told me that she used to get an orange as her Christmas gift (nothing else). She would save her orange for a few days, looking forward to eating it. On the other hand her one brother would eat all of his immediately. I have an orange for lunch every day at work, partly because I like them but also to remind myself of this story and of how relatively good most of us have it these days.
I agree that job descriptions should show a salary range. Otherwise you don't know if you should even apply. I also think that we all need to learn to estimate our market value and negotiate our salary, no matter what gender or race.
