they aren't socialist. they have large welfare systems but little government ownership of private enterprise. they are generally also high in democracy, 60% of taxes are raised and spent at local level rather than national, which is the opposite of socialist governments who prefer central control
lol #notrealsocialism.
the basic course of all socialist systems is
1 : praise as it does well at first
2 : accusations of external influences when it starts failing
3 : #notrealsocialism
Literally for decades people have been predicting average IQ scores would drop due to social/genetic factors. It's evidence of a successful theory. Society should stop pandering to the lowest common denominator and allow gifted students to excel in separate environments
I think colonialism was equally only a part of African poverty. As in the article linked, one of the opposing tribes in his area captured him and sold him into slavery, not Europeans. Niger was created by A Lincoln to repatriate slaves that wanted to return, and had plenty of support. Nigeria alone has been given more money in aid than what it cost to rebuild Europe after ww2. South African would never have had the 1st world development its had, had it not been for apartheid.
in order to calculate reparations you have to show how much better off the current generation would be had their ancestors not been sold into slavery. given the state of africa you cannot show they would be better off. secondly the slave traded ended globally thanks the UK. the British enforced the end of the slave trade and actively fought against Muslim and American slave traders to bring it down.
He was captured by a rival tribe, smuggled into the country illegally, freed by the victorious force and the first thing he can think of is compensation. not from his owners, or original tribe, but the now government that fought for his freedom?
Policies of equality of outcomes are inherently discriminatory. If black people are positively discriminated for then asians are being negatively discriminated against. Since spaces in college are limited when you give one space to someone you take it away from another.
the doctrine of equality of outcomes is evil which is what article is trying to achieve. being successful is not a crime or morally wrong as much as the likes of sanders/corbyn like to fantasise that it is. the fact that one person can handle a fine easier than another is no more consequential that the fact one can run faster than another.
It's unethical to study extreme fasting as you have to ask someone to put themselves into a dangerous situation. Someone doing so voluntarily (against advise) and being monitored is fine.
even though the dams are almost depleted the city's lack of water is more due to political issues than water management. the government is insisting that the local desalination plant manufacturer (which supplies australia and other countries) operate through a "Black Economic Empowerment" partner which heavily inflates the cost, and most likely will be tied to "the worlds most corrupt presidents" partners in crime, the Gupta family.
i believe tesco is a customer services front end to hsbc, so i doubt that its a bank end/ accounting problem. since its only online payments that have been stopped it suggests a card details leak, including the security code. i imagine this would only affect cards that dont have the 2 factor (mastercard/visa) step set up. perhaps a successful phishing or malware attack which has targeted tesco users
hopefully they hold a general election and Mrs May can continue doing her good work unimpeded for the foreseeable future. You may haggle on the terms of a "clear majority" on the referendum but there is no mistaking the majority the tories currently have over their opponents.
