One of my favourite poems is by Charles Bukowski and it has this wonderful recursive quality to it. It's called "Oh Yes".
there are worse things than
being along
but it often takes decades
to realize this
and most often
when you do
it's too late
and there's nothing worse
than
too late.
My social game (for the last 3 consecutive months) has brought in about $8000 - $10,000 a month. Pretty consistently averaging about $300 a day. Generally spend about 4 hours a month on it total. To note: The developer I work with spends much more time on it than I do; but it is not a focus / priority for either of us. It took about 18 months to get it to this point. It probably got to break even in roughly 5-6 months.
Try Atomic PR-- the founder of Mint's says it was one of his most important decisions to use PR, and Mint used them. I've also read otherwise (in general) about PR, so tread softly. Good luck!
Apparently the MPAA is made up of a small group of individuals nobody really knows. They are generally shrouded in secrecy and have very odd subjective systems. They tried it with Howard Hughes 90 years ago, ultimately they must adapt.
I think we do need to talk with our neighbors, but I suspect doing it in person rather than online would strengthen your community connections more so.
Thanks for the input. Agreed. I come from a design background so releasing something hacked together is a challenge for me. Furthermore, it really is a MVP-- there are definitely UX issues and functionality I would like to address/add, but resources are limited.
