“ Eyes and brain alike evolved over millennia to process natural scenes, forests, rivers, coastlines, open skies. These environments share a specific mathematical pattern: their visual complexity decreases predictably as you zoom in on finer and finer details.”

Doesn’t it increase the details in nature due to all the imperfections vs simple patterns made by humans?

Anthropic is getting extremely petty and especially against oai

- ad in superbowl about how they are the good guys.

- dow public PR stunt (they are the ones to give Palantir their model access).

- sues openclaw.

- threatens every use of cc in oss community.

- prevents other companies using claude saying they cant use when they compete.

- never released a single open weight model.

- Dario told OAI is Yolo'ing in compute and they are now doing the same.

- gas lighting developers and then after weeks acknowledging they fiddled with reasoning juice.

- fear mongoring on mythos and then geting compute later and acknowledging publicly once they realized its not significantly better than gpt 5.5 cyber.

- signs a deal with Elon!

- now this!

Inference is profitable. Companies lose money because:

1. Training is expensive. Not just compute but getting the data, researchers salaries etc 2. You have to keep producing new models to ensure people use your inference and there seems to be no end to this. So they have to pour more billions to keep the cycle going on 3. People salary and other admin cost are not that high compared to 1 and 2.

where are all the claude fans who hate elon? Its very funny how ant will do anything at this point.

The negative reactions here are baffling me. The fact that we can even get to say 30% with computer is amazing. So much hatred towards AI and anything from the frontier labs like OpenAI (or Goog for that matter) makes no sense.

There is really no reason to use Claude code anymore. Codex is much better with gpt 5.5. Not to mention, it’s open source, they play well with third parties, they don’t hold the model like mythos for elite companies, they have other good models like imagegen and I can use however the heck I want like openclaw.

Codex is becoming such a good product. I have the 100$ pro lite. I have Claude still but 20$. I rarely use it. Let’s see if they give generous limits and more importantly a model that’s better than 5.5. The mythos fear mongering did not give me a good impression that they care about the average developer.

Use the imagegen skill in codex and ask it to create sprites. It works really well.

“Insider is supported by ANTHROPIC“ get their money and act like independent? What a joke

While OpenAI was late to the game with codex, they are (inspite of the hate they get) consistent in model performance, limits, and model getting better along with harness (which is open source unlike Claude) and they don’t hype shit up like mythos. It seems like Anthropic PR game is scare tactics and squeeze out developers while getting money from big tech. Not to forget they are the ones worked with palantir first. Blatant marketing game but it has worked for them! Something to learn by other companies.

Gpt 5.4 high with fast mode in codex app is hands down the best way to do anything coding or non coding. If you have not tried it you are missing out. 100$ well spent. Claude code is too hyped up on HN.

Unfortunately the paper doesn’t include gpt 5.3 which was released around the same time as opus 4.6 and also gpt 5.4 few days back. Both are available via api

https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/models/gpt-5.3-codex

IMHO The harness must be used when running these experiments. The model vendors know best on giving the best harness with gpt 5.4 and codex or Claude code with opus 4.6 which makes a big difference if you are running any kind of agentic coding tasks.

I see both Claude and gpt to be neck and neck in coding. Every other model+harness is definitely 3-6 months behind. Right now codex seems to be the best in terms of solving complex bugs, long running tasks, much higher limits and even speed while Claude seems to do well in front end and their cli ux seems nice! Codex app is very good though (wish it wasn’t electron as a memory hog but it’s good)

ChatGPT has given more for my 20$ than any other vendor. And that’s not even considering codex which is so good and the limits are much much higher

It’s disgusting how they have successfully fooled people into thinking they are the good guys. They partnered with palantir, let them freely do the dirty work and once they realized they can make money directly they spin the PR and just trying to get more users. Well played.

I wish oss models are good so that we don’t have to deal with either leading companies!

They are playing a good PR game for sure. Their recent track record doesn’t show if they can be trusted. Few millions is nothing for their current revenue and saying they sacrificed is a big stretch here.

That’s their excuse to still appeal to people who can be tricked with their safety first pitch. It’s easy to have constitution and all the crap when you are not battle tested. They just showed their true colors.

If you haven’t used codex with gpt-5.3-codex (high or xhigh) you are missing out. Claude is still good at conversations but boy I can have codex go at a problem and it does better than Claude almost all the time. Front end and product UX Claude is slightly better but given the very very generous limits of codex, they are the best bang for buck
