Django/Python back-end engineer with founder/CTO experience, server administration too, and some front-end. I'm not only technical, and rather unique. I'm interested in the social aspects of technology and also in human language learning. I have studied dozens of human languages (e.g. id, eu, eo, sq, ru, …), so I'm a good match for educational or linguistic projects, even if they don't involve programming. Working with data, modeling, analyzing, teaching, etc. also are in my passion. Finally, I want a more respectful world, with technology companies respecting users, not restricting them. I'd like to work enhancing user rights (e.g. the 4 in GPL, etc.) or at least neutrally, not against them. Let me know if you're in an interesting project, company or working style where we could work together. Location: Barcelona (but moving)
Remote: yes (possible)
Willing to relocate: yes, to the north of Europe (Latvia, Norway, north Switzerland) or others (if language/culture is interesting)
Technologies: Python, Django, GNU/Linux, HTML, CSS, jQuery, PostgreSQL, ETL, data, scripts, testing, documentation, natural languages, knowledge management, education

Python engineer with founder/CTO experience. But I'm mainly interested in the social aspects of technology and also in human language learning. I have studied dozens of human languages (e.g. id, eu, eo, sq, …), so anything related to education or languages would be a good match. I love teaching, I analyze everything and have lots of interests. Finally, I think that people should always keep control of their computing (I mean: the 4 GPL freedoms) and I would like to work in that direction, not against.
Python/Django/back-end/devops/QA/documentation/processes/GNU/Linux/bugs/research/metrics. I offer attention to detail and perfectionism, in case it's needed. I care more about the business goal than about cutting-edge technologies. I'm a generalist but I'm mostly focused on /knowledge/ (learning, formalisation, validation, research, teaching, documenting, …). My technical experience has included: consulting, managing large clients with large deployments (>50 servers in AWS, with auto-scaling, ansible, firefighting, etc.), extending complex code bases (e.g. Open edX, the MOOC in edx.org), writing articles, improving company processes, starting a company from scratch, being CTO, mentoring, project management, finantials. I've worked in a remote team for 4 years doing free software, plus 6+ years elsewhere, and 20+ with GNU/Linux. My personal projects are about free software (respecting users' rights) and human language learning.

Contracting process: we can chat and discuss your needs or discuss a proposal (at no cost until we sign something). I can provide estimates, fixed-price or per hour as you prefer. Or we can start informally with small projects per-hour and see how it goes. I have a business registered in Latvia and can do invoices (and pay VAT etc.). My rate, and more information, is at https://www.danielclemente.com/trabajo/contracting.txt I'd prefer short or small projects. I would consider full-time employment only if a project matches my interests well.
