I´m a peacefull and calm person, which despites violent but the more I read about US patent law the more I want to set a torch to the trolls and kill them with fire.
I know that this is not very constructive. I know that violence is not a solution. But seeing what these [insert insult here] do to our industry I just can not help myself.
It is ok because it makes sense. Unlike other (stupid) acronym jokes, GTFO describes the purpose very well. It is funny the first time you read and usefull because you can renember/recognice it better than TS.
I do not belive all Texans (or even the most of them) are as bad as one might think, but the tiny bits of information we get about Texas paint an ugly picture.
We do not get Reports like "Things are going well in Austin!". In the internatiol news reports. We get reports like
"Stricter abortion laws, force clinics to shut down", "Armed Militia hunting illegal imgrants at the Border", "Patent troll wins in Texas", "...".
Texas is a great target for critics all over the world:
Texas is well known and is closly associated with Cowboys, strict laws, and the death sentence.
Liberals have someone, to bash and local conservativs are glad that critics get distracted by someone far far away.
So I´m sorry Texas reputation is bad, not only among IT folks, and not only in small hardcore leftist cells.
I do _NOT_ say that all this true.
Hell, I would be shocked if it really was!
Lowest common intelligence? Sounds like anyone unfamillar with perl is stupid.
Perl is very different from other languages an has a very special syntax. The only way to REALLY understand perl is reading and writting lots of perl code from different authors.
In perl nearly every problem can be solved in many different ways.
If you are used to one style of perl you might still have trouble understanding the code someone else wrote.
So what is reality? Are sure sure it is realy real? And where is the difference between dreaming you lived 70 years or really living them? You will nver know the difference.
We all create ou own "reality" out off faulty perceptions and memorys.
"Playing a game" is a bad example because it is hardly compareable to the complex illusion we really ( ;) ) live in.
The dream world of inception however is as complex as as the "real" world (at least from a humans point of view).
Sorry but you are sailing into a philosphical ocean with only a inflateable animal as support.
Yes bacon is "a dead animal", but the typical bacon smell is not related to that. Bacon smells of cured meat, and there if you fry some cured vegatarian/vegan products you get a simmilar smell. (Deep fryed, thin sliced, King Oyster Mushrooms with smoked Salt).
The device can make you feel a bit better but it can NOT replace an AC.
It was never designed to replace an AC.
If this was up for purchase i would get one especialy because it is portable and maybe it can be coupled with additional technology (measure blood preasure , acceleration, rfid access tags,...). People have been wearing wrist bands for ages (and even used them as currency) so it seems a good position for a gadget.
users do care about the tools they know. Our perl based webapp must interact with java, windows services, ... you name it.
You should not use virtual runtimes for everything your application does but using them in overnight cronjobs is ok.
Right now we are working on some middleware because the customers wants to use existing reporting tools(c#/windows only) with our product(perl/linux).
>Look how fast and simple this is!
>
>Yeah nice so how do I genearte my <wateva> reports?
>
>Well we can do the same with our <another> reporting service!
>
>No I want to keep my <goodOldstuff> based reports can you integrate those?
