Shouldn't take a study to understand that we are affecting global ecosystems and the wildlife in them, and not in a positive way. The best way wildlife can respond to humans is to get as far away as possible. Humans are the invasive species.

Anthropocentric thought is a problem and it shows. How about as a community not needing corporations to tell you how to exist while they destroy ecosystems around us? Maybe if they label everything, that'll make it alllllllll okay.

That's wild to me that that is how you know the risks of cigarettes. I forget just how many people rely on corporate authority to "warn" them of everything. That puts many of my peers in a constant state of fear. I put the word warn in quotes because it is only to insulate themselves against future lawsuits and revenue loss.

I am able to.

In this society, appearance, convenience, and justifying one's existence with unnecessary, destructive labor are more important than the ecosystems which support them. Humans are the invasive, destructive species.

Also(I'm absolutely not taking corporate side here), she says, "I feel like, I don’t know, almost like there’s a blanket over me, smothering me that I can’t get out from under." because of PFAS levels but then look at the corporate products/chemicals she covers her body in daily, and accepts money from others to do the same. If you are going to be outraged, at least be consistent about it.

Other people may not be throwing AI agents at those other platforms yet. I doubt it but even if those platforms weren't currently being targeted, they will be.

Will you, though? Compared to PyPi/VSCode, etc GitHub made platform-wide, security changes. Blue Team gets blamed often but you can't dodge an object you don't know is headed your way. The best you can do is mitigate it, and prevent further loss. If an organization exfiltrates data, you can't go back in time and get it back. Also, AI gets tossed around as excuse for things, but it really is finding some obscure vulnerabilities humans wouldn't have. https://fortune.com/2026/04/14/anthropic-mythos-reveals-secu...

Is going to Codeberg or sourcehut(or Forgejo, etc) not like switching from Pepsi to Coke(or Mr. Pibb, etc)? When people start flooding to those alternate hosting platforms, threat actors are going to start heading that way as well. Shark bites happen near the shore, because that is where the people are.

Also, I think the conditioning of people in society is underestimated. If a corporation tells its consumers that it remedied the situation, most will opt for familiarity, correct?

I can understand getting medical knowledge from medical text, but people have been meditating successfully for millennia...without an app.

As a society, not just regarding software dev, but in general, we have to stop making things just because we have the ability to do so and have to justify our time on the clock.

I assumed post offices would pretty much be obsolete when email was available, but people ship packages and ~100 trees worth of court documents daily(correct me if my estimate is wrong, please).

I stopped spending time on the main social media platforms because, aside from constant altercations, people assume that electricity, the servers, the ISPs, etc will always be there. What can someone do with millions of views on Instagram videos? I can't purchase sustenance with it. I cannot send a message to my friends with it. Then though, there is the deforestation and other ecological issues. If everyone started sending letters instead of emails...flora and fauna would take a major hit.

I don't know what the best thing to do is, communication-wise, besides prevent humans from depleting resources for unnecessary things, but you know how that usually works out and, who determines what is necessary and what isn't?

So essentially, AI is exacerbating the Dunning-Kruger effect in society.
