for me the question is: how do you know if the company is unethical? it's because the news? in the intimate of every company we can see unethical behaviour.
I don't agree, even if we think Bill Gates is the evil, that doesn't mean that without him the industry would be what is it now. I think he contributed to move the industry, may be without the intent, but may be better than others.
Obviously we would never know about the parallel realities.
We all have this idea in the past, the difference is that Google has many top Ph.Ds pushing Machine Learning advancement, and this is something we can't do with an idea.
Imagine that somebody is beginning a company that will be valued at >$ 1 Billion in three years and you believe on that. What will be your investment range and % of shares for an angel investment today. Also assuming that this company will not require any extra investment.
I think we need more information about these Quantum Chips, I don't know if Wikipedia entry is correct but it says:
- D-Wave Systems, Inc..... it announced a working prototype of a potentially commercially-viable quantum computer. However, the claim that it is actually a quantum computer is disputed.

The iPhone came with Google Maps, and Google/Yahoo search box. Try to add your own search box to the iPhone... worst, in the past there was an antimonopoly inquiry attacking Microsoft for integrating their IE on the OS, now Google under the [buzzed] "Open Source" lemma, give you less web APIs in the web than Microsoft in the OS.
I am the inverse... don't like windows but like silverlight and WPF! obviously I rather prefer an open standard, but like I prefer to use python [natively] instead of javascript in the browser.
