I regularly slept on a bus when I commuted for ~40 minutes. Granted, that job lasted only 3 months but nothing got stolen. This was in Slovakia.

Nationalism may be relatively young but tribalism has existed as long as humans. Nationalism just happens to be the most successful form of tribalism.
