Sir if you could finally add keyword filters, I wouldn’t spend half a second considering an alternative. I sorely missed this the past years while HN has been spammed with AI marketing.
VCs just need to make sure there is enough hype by the time AI startups IPO, so that they can cash out. It's part of a bigger trend in finance, arguably caused by quantitative easing. It's why Uber could IPO, while they had never made a profit; but because of the hype, their stock price did great on day 1.
As a consumer, I'm devastated by how AI is destroying the quality of services I used to rely on. As a tech professional, I'm stoked about everyone who is investing their time and energy into gambling on text generators, instead of developing their technical skills. The technical debt it creates will just make those skills even more valuable in the future.
Haha I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed the irony. It really devalues the whole thing. The next phase in online consumer culture will certainly be the commodification of the old web: reduced to a performative aesthetic, divorced from its original substance.
I know right? Telegram is one of my favourite iPhone apps, hands down, purely on the basis of the interface. It’s also incredibly performant, which means a lot considering I use a 6S model from 2015. In comparison, the last discord update became literally unusable, for performance reasons (it was so bad, i ended up deleting it).
