80's Chinese.
That is, the generation born in the 80s.
I first hear of Han Han (韩寒) when he failed his college entrance exams and dropped out of school. Such talent! There was much hand wringing in the media.

social activists like Han Han is not measured by the degree of education he gets.
It is a bold claim by saying "influential to contemporary culture".
He will only get more influential, people are now starting to call him the new and better Lu Xun (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lu_Xun) which is significant enough.

Don't listen to official propaganda judgement of Han Han. It's really just, well, propagandas.
Han Han is an incredible guy, he is one and only master troll against the government. Much of what the general public's idea were somehow properly expressed via his voice on blog, and somehow just right below the tolerance limit of the government so it gets published and spread very quickly in a timely fashion. His father is a C.C. Party ShangHai official working in the propaganda department and fortunately support what Han Han is doing.
There's no limit in Han Han's future, this guy has got so much potential.
I myself was not a HanHan fan, and I used to be against pro-Han Han during my school days. However I have to admit this guy knows exactly what he is talking about and is doing a damn good job with expert skills

My guess is they check referrers? Not a userscript, but I use RefControl for fine tuning such.
As a racing driver I think this guy understands the concept of "steering into the slide". In the case of blogging in China, if you're going to be a little bit courageous, it's probably better to be a lot courageous.
He is much much more than that. He is considered to be the symbol of 80's Chinese. He is widely, household famous, well known to all Chinese no matter age or gender, and quite influential to contemporary Chinese culture. If you want to understand how the new generation (I mean post-Mao generation) thinks he is really the key figure (not even one of)

The NCWC is not described on wikipedia, but it has a huge impact on every 80's Chinese, it's extremely popular in middle/high school courses (at least during those years). It's kinda like worship of a rockstar.
