Steven Crowder is a comedian -- granted I'm not that familiar with his podcast.
So we're going to ban all accounts or at the very least demonetize all accounts who use synonyms for various sexual orientations now? Are we that delicate and totalitarian?

You can't support homophobic creators and claim to be supportive to LGBTI issues at the same time
Sure they can, just like the 250 year old USA has done it. Be a platform for free speech. Stop trying to police what people say and issue demerits when you don't like it.

To be fair, Crowder went after an outspoken socialism activist named Carlos Maza who happens to be very openly gay, to the point where his twitter handle is gaywonk, and he hosts an opinion program with Vox and shows up in media from time to time. So he exists in the ether of popular media and all of the bullshit that goes with it.
Carlos has a propensity to call everyone he disagrees with politically either bigots or white supremacists, and has advocated for deplatforming and silencing any dissenters against his brand of politics for awhile.
He won obviously, he whined enough to get his way because he wants to have his cake and eat it too when it comes to disseminating opinion. This wasn't about homosexuality at the end of the day, he parades it regularly himself, and he used it as his weapon with the backdrop of pride month.
The big issue is about the one sided discourse going on this country where the first amendment used to mean something and we took great pains as a country to defend it, even the ugly stuff. Now we are at a point where any opinion held outside of left leaning PC popular thought is "hate speech" or harassment, even though all sides in the media, both social and professional, engage in overt targeted harassment at this point, and tech companies are all to willing to jump in on one side and crush opposition.
Enjoy the show, once silencing dissenting speech and political and social ideas becomes normal, acceptable, and popular with the blessing of the mob, this ride won't stop. True fascism requires that only one acceptable track of speech and political thought exists, and we are on that road now.

"To be clear, using racial, homophobic, or sexist epithets on their own would not necessarily violate either of these policies. For example, as noted above, lewd or offensive language is often used in songs and comedic routines. It's when the primary purpose of the video is hate or harassment. And when videos violate these policies, we remove them."
I don't see how Google/Youtube can view Crowders videos as non-harassment, non-hate speech and still keep a straight face with their pride month campaign. You can't support homophobic creators and claim to be supportive to LGBTI issues at the same time.
