Interesting design. Normally 80/20 aluminum extrusion is a bit wobbly in CNC machines, but if it's secured to granite epoxy a lot of that flex goes away. The linear rails aren't great for handling high lateral forces, but might be enough for lightweight aluminum and plastics.

I have a homebrew cnc with a fairly similar design, and can cut anything up through mild steel on it. The steel cuts don't have great tolerances, get something around .005" rail deflection at the extreme, but it's amazing what some extrusion can do if you have a decent spindle.
