Ask HN: The life is already a full time job how to reconcile both of them?

There are 168 hours in a week, which allowing for sleep and other essentials yields about 100 hours in which to exercise our free will. The 40 hrs / week job should provide for the other 60 hours. If you choose to work 60+ hours in a job, then you need to recognize the trade-off you have made. Delayed gratification might work for some folks, but not for me.
Those 60 hours are eaten up pretty fast by commuting, ramping up/ramping down from work and chores.
The 40 hour week was fine when it was one breadwinner and one home maker, but that’s rarely the case anymore.

4-day work week? 32 hours?
