This is a beautiful and ambitious project. If you’re unaccustomed to listening to historically-informed recordings of these works, the tuning can be a bit jarring at first. We are so accustomed to hearing them at A ∼ 440.
Is it jarring even for people without perfect pitch? I would have imagined it would only matter for people who can actually distinguish 440hz vs 425 hz etc...
Is it possible to search by performer? I searched Helene Grimaud, Glenn Gould, and Hilary Hahn but no results.
I may be wrong, but results will only show performers who were directly commissioned to participate in this project. Since you mentioned Glenn Gould, I highly recommend Jean Rondeau's performance of the Goldberg Variations played on the harpsichord.
They are recording new performances for public access, and they are oriented towards the authentic practice, so you won’t find Gould there.
I have been listening and watching for years. They are amazing performers.
