The power went out where I am right as the temps dropped. That means no heating. Luckily, I was able to get my fireplace running, despite it being fully electric-controlled and we were out of batteries (I just wired together a bunch of triple A's and it happened to work)
It has felt like -40 or lower with wind factored in where I am for most of the week. -45c is weather where every second you spend outside the cold air reminds you that it kills humans. Falling to above 0 temps...ok shrug. Buy a light jacket.
While I love our cold winter (10C), but this (-18C) would be too much even for me.
That’s 8 degrees Celsius, for everyone else.
Doesn’t seem so dramatic, but it’s a large-ish drop

I was working out in my garage when this happened, it had been 50F outside when I went in the garage, I was sanding some woodworking for around 3-4 hours. At one point I turned on a propane heater on the next workbench over, but was still cold so I moved it over to my feet right next to me. Over about an hour, even with this I got cold and called it quits. My garage is drywalled, with insulation in the walls but none in the ceiling. I need to fix that.
This was brutal. Woke to -33f counting wind chill (-17f w/o). Glad my furnace kept working.
Unofficially, Boulder went from 42F to 15 in 20 minutes.
Toronto went from -30˚C to 100˚C in 2 minutes. Temperature recorded from my teapot.
why is it -30 in your place, or is your kettle outside?
You running RFC 2324 on that?
littleton here. dropped from 42 to 14 in about 20 mins
