The president therefore may not be prosecuted for exercising his core constitutional powers, and he is entitled, at a minimum, to a presumptive immunity from prosecution for all his official acts.
Now we will have arguments over what are core constitutional powers and what constitutes “official acts”. Hypothetically speaking, if Trump’s son-in-law takes $1 billion from the Saudi government in exchange for certain favors is it legal for Trump to benefit from this since his son-in-law acted as his advisor and that is an “official act” and having advisors perform foreign policy is a core constitutional power?
People more versed in legal language than I can word the above in a better way. I can’t help but think that in the future Presidents will abuse this. Democrats need to start impeaching and removing justices from the court.
