Perhaps I'm in the minority here, but I feel like it would be much more useful to link to an article instead of a video in order to be able to digest and compare the information to other sources.

I understand news platforms use videos as an engagement method, but I'm not sure if in this case it is more productive for causing useful discussion

Generally, I would agree, but in this case, the video give me a bit of context to an article. A better option would be to put them side-by-side. Here is the article, but if you wanna watch the video here is this as well.
