I spent some time trying to have lucid dreams. I distinctly remember times where the question didn't result in either. But instead a suspicious half lucid state. Where you are a lot more aware that something is wrong. But not quite sure you are actually dreaming.

One of the simplest methods was to look for a clock. Look away, and see if it changes. The realization of "hmm, I should find a clock" making them appear on every street light and building. Wasn't always the obvious indication of a dream it might sound like. Instead leading to a very confused dream wondering if reality always looked that way.

Cruelty Squad's artstyle feels like someone getting every answer wrong on their art test on purpose. Then sticking with it and making it feel sort of cohesive in the end anyway. It certainly grew on me more and more as I played it.

Not to mention that the actual gameplay is incredibly fun. With varied gear options, replayable missions with new gear and lots of secrets to find.

While the farnsworth-munsell 100 hue test is definitely doable. I'd love to see a bigger test just for the hell of it.

Even so, "to keep it alive" seems like a non issue for a single player game a few hours long.

Just as an aside. Is it really "added sugar" in candy where the entire point is that it's mainly made out of sugar?

It always amazes me that some places don't have a comparison price by weight listed in stores.

Small mom and pop kind of stores don't always have it. But a "proper" grocery store will always list per weight here.

One very interesting feature of older agriculture is the way the fields were split up. With tons and tons of narrow strips of land in the open-field system. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open-field_system)

In Sweden the gradual reforms towards today's uniform, or at least closely situated fields. Took as long as until the 18th century to really become a thing. I suspect similar reforms elsewhere were just as late.

Is it really about sunlight and not heat though? Otherwise one would expect to see more sweet fruit coming from northern europe than is the case. Given the near absence of "night."

If you look at the monthly reports from a decade ago you see they were given donations ranging from 2000 to 6000 dollars a month even then.

Mouse gestures, right click scroll between tabs, closed tab history & current tab history. I thank Opera for showing me the way.

Sadly the last two were killed off in Firefox in that last big add-on update. I didn't find anything that works since then.

I think it's interesting how "the ritual" of going to or leaving work. Is such a big part of the discussion around working from home.

I felt it myself at first. I had to do something to break up the day into work and not work. At first I'd pretty much just walk to the bus stop and go home from there. Basically pretend I took the bus. After a month or two I think I stopped. The walk was the new commute. The ritual part just became moving all cables back to my own computer from the work laptop dock. A quick minute and it's over. Work has ended and all is well.

I'm guessing they're thinking about regaining stamina with food. Even if it's not death, it stops you from doing actual work during the day. Might feel like starving?

>The worst part of cooperative games is that guy who just tells everyone what to do

I'm always conflicted when it comes to cooperative games because of this. The goal of the game is to win, and you have to win as a team. So debating decisions would be for the best. It just never feels like much of a debate. One player spots the optimal move and points it out. You lose agency on your own turn. I certainly want to make my own moves to some extent. But of course I also want to win. Especially in how brutally difficult most of the cooperative games I have played are. Such as Eldritch Horror or whichever Warhammer Fantasy card game. Going against the group seems foolish.

Something about this particular typo really threw me off as well though. It looked proper but at the same time made no sense.

I don't see how they are supporting frivolous travel by reporting: "This is happening to travelers at the border."

As a dedicated Johnny player in any kind of game. Having to shell out for that 1/10 amazing win before trying something new is harsh.

I thank the internet for proxies and fan clients.

>In Factorio, if you don't have enough let's say steel plates, you _HAVE_ to go and increase your ore production.

No you don't. Unless you have literally zero supply. You can always settle for "good enough" and live on less than perfect supply of any resource.

Given how Humble started. I always figured it was meant to be a charitable organization. Even if they have changed a lot and become more of a proper store these days. While I wouldn't give 100% to charity. It was probably something like 90/10 between charity and Humble themselves. So it's a shame to see it reduced so much.

That has been my problem with both podcasts and audiobooks. I can't multitask and have the content be much more than white noise.

The first audiobooks I tried listening to were books I had already read myself. Just to see how it would be if someone else narrated them. Despite having a feel for what the story was already. I'd lose track of it constantly. Akin to reading the same line over and over when tired. Which is arguably harder to rewind in audio form than in text.

Watching shortish videos on youtube or some livestream is fine for background noise. But to retain much from what was originally a 300 page novel or whatever. Having large parts of just be remembered as static feels really bad.
