These physicists today can get away with making the most outrageous claims and everyone swoons around them without challenge. There is no evidence of a previous universe to our own. Period.
I remember arranging a talk for my college’s AITP Club in 2012 which was sold to me as a trendy “How to XCode for iOS Blah Blah Blah.” After setting up the projector and giving a brief introduction the guy went headfirst into an evangelical tirade about TDD. No XCode, no iOS, no iPhone app. From that day forward I knew TDD was bullshit.
I am in favour of the immediate cessation of all commercial fishing worldwide until such a time as the world can come together to build a system with the primary goal of protecting the fish and ancillary goals of providing a fair allotment, executing poachers, & educating children about extinction.
I agree. If I hit ‘Ctrl-H’ my lovely, clean Nautilus File Manager becomes a heinous, ugly clutter which is impossible to navigate. I’ve tried to delete some or move others to no avail. Please follow this standard. It’s clean, organized, and beautiful. Once done, we can then tackle the next problem (I’m looking at you & Snaps Shuttleworth!).
These issues usually have a benign beginning.
“We only do this for violent crimes” seems reasonable but it will never stay benign. Cops are lazy. Give them a tool and they will eventually use it to catch shoplifters and graffiti artists or to inquire about the heredity of their girlfriends.
I installed this immediately in Ubuntu Gnome and set it be the system font for documents & the interface. Courier has, for some reason, always been my favorite font. It looks great!
My grandmother had nine sisters. All nine of them died in their 60’s from emphysema and lung cancer. All told fifteen people in my family died from smoking related illness. These early deaths were absolutely devastating to us kids as they happened in rapid succession.
Vaping saves lives. Vaping saves lungs. Let’s just continue to get people off of burning cigarettes and we can tackle nicotine addiction once cigarettes are a bad memory.
With so many real problems in National Parks (including the ASTOUNDING number of mysterious disappearances of park visitors) I find this article a generic case of pearl-clutching stupidity. Humans have been stacking stones atop one another since at least 12,000 BC as in Gobekli Tepe in Turkey. We stack stones for our shelters, our fireplaces, and our workplaces. We stack stones for monuments. So now we are stacking stones for sheer aesthetic beauty. Good. Stack away with the knowledge that you are continuing a human tradition that has been going on for millennia.
That is the first question that jumped into mind for me. How is this useful to me now. I assume that the LTE chip in our devices will handshake with these networks seamlessly.
Not surprising insofar as we Texans require a little thing called verified identity to vote. I have heard that the majority of those registrations were invalidated because they could not be matched to real people living in Texas cities.
