Wow, Google Maps compared to iconography, that's new. It made me start thinking on how the information that we get online shapes our outlook. Yeah, we don't really search for wells or natural water reservoirs (what if some disaster happens), but mainly for Malls, Starbucks and ATMs, lol. Some countries have to rewrite books on History to let their people see the world as they want them to see, and Google Maps make so for the whole world and we take it for granted. Can Google cartographers pay some attention to water and mineral supplies for example? So we can select which type of online map to see.
Soros juggles the facts in his favour -that's for sure, but the general geopolitical picture is given about right. Like Germany being the dominant player in Europe and Russia helping out with Middle East chemical weapon. These are well-known facts, what would be really great to find out is what bonus the leader of the country brings to the table of his own nation and at what cost. Not sure, we'll ever find out.
My 2 cents on the topic would be: it takes time for the brain to find a creative solution to tackle the problem, so a person has got to give a thought some time, kind of let it run on the background on its own. I've used this technique a lot of times in my life. If I can't remember where I've put something, I don't try to find it asap. I try to distract myself from the task by anything like reading news, or making a cup of tea or doing some exercises, anything really. It takes considerably less efforts to find the thing or the right solution when I don't feel that it's life or death important. And after the thing or the solution is found, it's really worth of sharing your thought with people as they might help you see some weak sides of the way you are about to take and help with peices of advice. So all in all, the best approach imho is giving a problem some time, no rush, no panic, and then share ideas with people to get the most of it.
Yeah, we take so many things for granted. If you had said 20 years ago that you get cash in just 30 min from an ATM without a card but with your cell phone and a palm scan, they would probably advise you to see a doctor.
That's fascinating how people fear to take something new and better as opposed to old and traditional. The same has been with adoption computer. Yes, it has changed our lives and the world. But if this move hadn't been done, would we get better life? I don't think so. Getting info from Anywhere in the world in the split of the second is as good as breathing Clean air in big cities.
