And HN moves any such thread out of frontpage and buries it as soon as possible. I saw this with Australia's demotion of democracy thread. Btw, India's democracy status has been demoted already to 'repressed' before this Act became active.
u/dang , I respectfully enquire why this thread and any other thread discussing about democracy, opression, freedom of speech gets demoted quickly? I understand that there could be heated debates in such thread; but I don't see these threads itself as a violation of HN rules.
This is not about migrants, if so why are Indian muslims waiting in queue right now to verify their identify all of the sudden? Including those whose family has been in India for generations and those whose father/grandfather has fought for independence?
This ACT and subsequent measures to enforce this act creates religion as the only identity and muslims being the only major religion being left out of this Act; they are by default forced to verify their identity. How many in India do you think can prove their grandfather's identiy? Especially when they don't know if they can get a dinner today.
