Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start looking for any start up internships?
I'm a freshman in college so i don't have too much experience in programming, but i can definitely still hold my own in a couple different languages. The problem I face is that my school has a mailing list for jobs but all the postings are for big name companies looking for graduate or near graduate students, which I am not.
I guess what i'm looking for would be some place to start a search for some good start ups to apply to.
Unfortunately that's how our society works; as new methods for optimization are discovered for any field, especially education due to the large amount of change required, it is adopted as the norm over time after it's verified many times over, and more as a trickle down effect.
The silver lining is that eventually it will be adopted if it works, it's just a matter of time. So possibly in two or three generations educational methods will be focused towards this type of strategy.
edit: poster above me mentions mid term / final exams, this is just an example of the beginning of changes towards methods of learning similar to that in the article.
Personally, I see them as a group who's main objectives are for the most part benificial to the world. Obviously since anyone can SAY they are part of Anonymous, some of the things 'promoted' by Anonymous aren't actually supported by a majority of the group, which i feel both the media and many people fail to realize.
From what I can see, Anonymous is mainly concerned with showing the public the problems with today's society. In my opinion, the methods might be slightly extreme but that's really the only way they are going to be able to inform the public of the issues that need to be addressed:
through media attention.
I want to be clear however, this is just my opinion and I
am in no way promoting or even associated with the group.
Well if you're right, that just means EVERYONE needs to speak out against legislation like this, otherwise who knows where the government is going to lead this nation.
Yes, if you're going to try to make money by scamming people, obviously you're going to try to seem as legitimate as possible.
And they are not necessarily trying to "promote google initiative." According to the transcript, they have you come into their office and presumably sign up for their hosting after they developed the website. All they have to do is throw up a couple signs in their office that say google and no one is going to know the difference.
edit: i'm also not saying google is NOT behind it, im just saying wait to hear all the facts.
No where in the article was there a call for a DDoS campaign. They're saying to be active in the protest of SOPA by putting it on your website and by encouraging other to do so as well:
"Encourage friends, businesses, organizations, social media to take a stand along side us in the same way. Use/distribute the OpBlackOut material we’ve provided for this purpose, or make your own (but please try to be concise and indict SOPA specifically so the message is clear, unanimous and omnipresent)"
