My high school claim to fame was a VB.NET application I wrote during class that would connect directly to my server to download flash games since online flash games were constant cat and mouse. I had hotkeys so you could hide the whole thing from screen and taskbar on a whim. My flash repository was still getting hits for years after I graduated, though that tapered off a little while ago.

It allows them to keep the walled garden intact. A 3rd party app marketplace would need to install apps to the device and would require a different permissions model to anything available on the App Store today.

This seems likely to be the case. Perhaps there is a way to design a test such that it measures how quickly one can become capable in some informal "programming language" designed specifically for said test?

This sounds right on in my experience, though I would say a truly good UX designer should know the usability of what they're designing in Figma and understand those limitations enough to work with a developer during the design process if needed to refine a non-standard action/animation.

If they're really doing this (and I don't particularly doubt it) someone should script up a little bot to search for domain names that are likely to trigger the mechanism. Find word clouds around some of the newer domains like .quest with characters under a certain limit...

...or perhaps that's feeding the beast and namecheap will be thanking us in 5 years when people are knocking down their doors for the hot domains we generated.

He's our fastest business analyst but sometimes on a hot day he'll just keep repeating "Syntax Error"...

Very cool work, I continue to be blown away by what GPT-3 can achieve.

Slack's iOS app is written in Obj-C and Swift[1]. I think the author's suggestion was that the macOS desktop app built with Electron will become obsolete because the superior iOS version will be able to run on macOS.
