It doesn't seem like they're trying to help you write a cross platform app that shares the majority of its codebase like Xamarin. I think they're trying to make it so React's data flow model is the only one you'll need to be good at and it will increase your productivity no matter what platform you're working on.
Based off of the learn once write anywhere idea they put forth in the video the codebases will be separate. I think what they were trying to solve is the the issue that currently you need to learn multiple layout engines (CSS, iOS, Android) as well as the different model-view patterns from each platform. Now you can just get really good at React and that will help your productivity on all platforms.
If you someone didn't realize what indexes do then they were using a technology they had no idea about. I love Mongo but its users tend to be clueless.
This seems like a pretty fair analysis. The positive is these all seem to be software issues that can easily be fixed in updates. I was just worried about bad hardware that can't be fixed.
As a sidenote, maybe this is just an RT vs 8 thing but the Mail app did take me through a setup wizard when I first ran it.
Your only option is to work hard. Any spare time I had went into my side projects. I stayed up late, got 3-4 hours of sleep a night. It sucks for a while but your body gets used to it.
All of this panned out for me and now my side project has turned into a main project and career. It sounds a lot worse than it is but in reality I enjoyed what I was doing so it wasn't really like "work" to me.
It's a way to scam colleges really. If I remember correctly I took four AP tests without even taking the class, you only need about a 70% depending on the subject to get a 5. Got plenty of college credit without doing crap.
