Thought mapping: even there is a lofty claim, compare with the feature-list of freeplane (clone-nodes, presentation mode, scripts and plugins in java/groovy/javascript/jruby/jython, ...)
Its interresting on its own, would do better avoiding superior-comparison

Freeplane: Gpl, multiplatform, icons, styles, images, links, connectors, foldable, clone-nodes, scriptable (groovy, jruby, jython, javascript), efficient even with huge maps
