I would say cost, imagine the R&D of the part itselft, but the cost of it in maintenance to the final user. I believe citroen had electromagnetic shocks in the 90's and it didn't catch much momentum but if you see the videos of it working, its exactly like you said, smooth as heck drive throwgh bumps.

Being caught is the problem. If there's a 100% chance of getting caught, like grabbing the box while the owner is right there talking to a police officer, that deters this kind of crime

I don't think even the most well-intentioned state have the incentives to properly allocate resources in the market. Usually, when state-owned industries fail, the taxpayer suffers, so the administration has little to no incentive to actually do good in the long run.

Kinda, but this is also how the free market dies—happens little by little. A change here, a law there that helps the people, oops, now the law makes it harder for competition to get in, and so on and so forth.

The paradox of rights(don't quote me, i just made this up). In wealthier societies, demands for greater worker rights from the government increase. This can lead to more bureaucracy and higher labor costs, potentially making third-world countries with lower regulations more attractive for importing goods or outsourcing production. Countries already operates in a libertarian interaction with each others. I find these global economics aspects fascinating

Because they build a reputation of good quality plastic pieces that fit very snug together for, like they said, generations. New type os plastic seens to not be like that and the final product was not really good. If its really true or not, i don't know, but that was their justification.
