It is cheaper for the government to just lock the car doors for the length of your sentence. Saves them space in prison. You are allowed to use the McDrive twice a day. The windows will drop 8 centimeters, enough for a Big Mac.
Perhaps in the future cars will not only record your face but also listen in for hate speech. Most cars have SOS and GPS modules so calling the police if someone in the car shouts a slur is just connecting some code together.
> drinkable water isn't really an achievement, we have it in all of western europe. Maybe even in all of europe
Absolutely not. Water tastes bad in plenty of parts in Europe and isn’t even drinkable in plenty of parts.
> But also in the western world 250 years aren't that much.
I would like to know which countries you are talking about.
> yeah, the USA started and/or participated in many wars
I was talking about wars on their own continent, impacting their own people. Europe has seen plenty of that. I am currently less than 1000 kilometers away from an active battle zone. How many Americans can say that.
The numbers aren’t very clear but from what I can read online I see that the border checks in Germany resulted in a couple thousand deportations. Hundred of thousands of people checked.
Not comparing that to ICE as deportations in the EU are typically peaceful.
> The schengen zone grants passport-free travel across 29 nations, spanning thousands of miles without a single border checkpoint.
Not anymore. I got stopped between The Netherlands and Germany, between France and Spain, Denmark and Sweden. Germany has border checkpoints with most of its bordering countries.
That is unheard of in the USA. You can travel thousands of kilometers without getting stopped by authorities for checking your passport or identity card.
Water tastes pretty gross in coastal Spain. In countries like Albania I wouldn’t even drink it at all. On Greek islands it is safe but everyone buys water from the stores.
Due to the age of many places in Europe there is also still a lot of copper pipe used for tap water. Not deadly but also not very healthy. In Amsterdam over 20 percent of homes have copper pipes.
When I look up a place on Google
Maps but don’t use it for navigation. I then use another app for navigation. After 15 minutes Google Maps starts showing notifications on CarPlay asking me if I want to use Google Maps to navigate to my destination. I classify that as spam and distracting while driving.
This was about a year ago, I completely stopped using Google Maps since.
When the wireless CarPlay connects I can’t use Google Maps on my phone screen anymore. It’s one of the reasons I dumped it for other navigation apps. I also disliked the Google Maps spam I got on CarPlay while using other navigation apps. Very intrusive.
In my opinion, anything older than a 996 shouldn’t have an infotainment screen. Looks very out of place. Just use a phone mount for navigation or use audio navigation through a period correct radio.
