Would love to hear your thoughts on Netrunner: Android! Been thinking about getting into it but a bit unsure if it's something my significant other can get into as well.
Nice app! If you are going to keep the ads (I'd rather pay something like $1), please show them on the frontpage compared to when I'm reading the article. Also it would be nice if it would not reload the frontpage every time I come back from reading an article.
Think about what kind of games you like to play, choose one of them and try to simplify it down to the bare minimum, no fluff. Then start making the most basic feature and continue from there.
Seems a bit similar to http://ge.tt/ - They also feature a drag-and-drop uploading, with 2GB for free, user registration and an API with wrappers for a few languages. Two features from them that you should maybe consider is a) to automatically start uploading when files are dropped on the site and b) if no file has been dropped on the site and the user clicks the upload button, present them with a file chooser.
Otherwise, nice job. I like the simplicity of the design, but it is a bit bottom heavy because of the big, black button.
"After enabling the survey on a popular post, I had almost 80 responses after just a day. 14% of users preferred screencasts, 41% preferred articles, and 45% thought both were good."
If this popular post was an article, it is not surprising that majority or the survey takers preferred articles since they were already reading an article. This is called sampling bias. How would the result look like if the survey was conducted on a page with a screencast. In that case people might favor screencasts.
