"China's newly appointed defense chief and Shoigu discussed boosting military cooperation and coordination as the Russia-Ukraine war drags on. Tensions surrounding the Ukraine crisis have tested the resilience of the China-Russia partnership, with Beijing supporting the Kremlin's plans economically rather than openly amid international pressure."
I see you're trying to drive a wedge between India and Canada, dirtyid, or Chinese citizen who lives in Canada who loves China and hates western world. It really doesn't matter what you're doing you know, China is a Great Depression and will stay there for 20 years.
Also proving the point that Canada and US should not be importing more Chinese pinkies into the country
When is Europe going to wake up and realize that China is attacking Europe with all its weights, whether its through Russia's military invasion or through economic attack of dumping of EV and solar that seeks to destroy Europe's car industry?
Taiwan WAS a break away state 70 years ago that is an independent country FOR THE LAST 70 years. doesn't matter which ally (US, Japan, whoever) Taiwan had, it is operating as an independent country.
If China attacks Taiwan, they are attacking another country. Just like Russia attacking Ukraine. Doesn't matter what psychobabble a dictator spouts.
Taiwan has its own MILITARY FORCE, government, rule of law, economy, alliances for 70 years now. It is de facto an independent country. Unless someone brings that tired argument of Taiwan claims China as its own - no, China threatened to invade if Taiwan relinquishes that claim. And no, just because China forces other countries to not recognize Taiwan as a country, doesn't make it so. (if anything, most countries are now starting to freely associate with Taiwan, now that China is in decline)
China is the biggest importer of Iran's oil. Iran's oil exports reach 5-year high, with China as top buyer
https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Markets/Commodities/Iran-s-.... Iran supports Houthi, and both with Iranian drones and Houthi missiles, are attacking US and European ships.
agreed, also, what is with all these articles written/submitted in favor of Chinese EVs in US? do they not know we are currently fighting an indirect war with China, with China supplying Russia's invasion against Europe being supplied by US? do they not know China is basically the backer for Houthi, Iran, North Korea, and Russia?
The layoff announcement mentioned that the 11% staff laid off is global. It's possible a lot of people laid off are actually in China, since Tencent owns 100% of Riot Games. There is a trend for Chinese companies to not hire workers that are over 35 years old, so some of these employees might be unemployed for a long time. Also, Chinese economy is in the crapper right now.

It's doubtful that these Chinese employees are chatting about it on hacker news, since it would draw attention of the authorities. Also, there is a trend for Chinese companies to not hire workers that are over 35 years old, so most of these employees are probably in shock on how they would pay their mortgages and support their parents at the same time. And Chinese economy is in the crapper right now.
The problem with China is that they got old and demographically smaller, and decided to pick a fight alongside Russia against Europe and US, before they got rich or at least above poverty level.
China Tries To Censor Data About Nearly 1 Billion People in Poverty
In his article for the business outlet Yicai, Li cited data from a 2021 research paper by the China Institute of Income Distribution at Beijing Normal University, which placed the number of people living on less than 2,000 yuan ($300) a month at 964 million, or nearly 70 percent of the population.

No, the big anxiety in China is that the manufacturing is disappearing, especially to developed world like Europe and US. With real estate and consumer spending - the 2 of 3 economic engines - in the dumps, China has switched focus back to manufacturing - the other engine. However...
China's annual exports drop for first time in seven years.
Among key trading partners, exports to the U.S. led the decline, down 13% from the previous year. Demand from the European Union and Southeast Asian countries also shrank.
You have it half correct. It's more like Chinese cannot afford to have more kids. There's a reason, as China got poorer the last 3 years, the birthrate dropped sharply

lol, spoken like a mouthpiece for Chinese or Russia dictatorship brainwashing media. These are democratic allies that have allied against invading dictatorships.
No chance in hell China and Russia wins here, against such a formidable alliance. They will merely slowly fade away in the global economy, into obscurity.
