>failing to protect the elderly at our care facilities
This right here is the main reason for a high death count here in the U.S. too.
Who would have thought that sending viral patients into nursing homes would have disastrous effects, right? Our politicized medicine obviously did not think through something so obvious, in 2020 nonetheless.
All unions ever accomplished is to harm the hand that feeds them, be it one company, or the whole State.
Lulling workers into complacence and laziness, all the while working tirelessly for their crazy political overlords, unions have been selling fake security for real power for centuries.
I'd just like to state for the record that 90% of conversation on this topic is super-smart people arguing the best ways to censor opinions they find harmful politically or socially.
I want to keep this comment for when the pancake turns over and political and social opinions these people hold become "non grata" and heavily censored.
Because they have European immigrants (like me) who are more than willing to explain to Americans what exactly leftist ideas mean in practice, and how much of it is false advertising.
Chernobyl (outside of parts of power plant that hosted the uranium core) is only dangerous in the graveyard, and certain apartments/rooms that haven't been opened since the accident.
Radiation is a natural phenomenon, and effects are not as long-term as we were taught.
Yes we would be short on quality lithium sources. Mining lithium is extremely damaging to environment, too, but you'll rarely hear about that in "climate change" discussions.
Comments like the one you're replying to always make me think - is a popular democracy truly the way to go? If that truly is the case, then our education needs to become the polar opposite of what it is today, because today it is obviously churning out angry ignoramuses willing to criticize their own country into oblivion, as well as happily vote to undermine their own country's security.
Don't come arguing on a topic you lack basic understanding of. Asking "for a source" on whether Comintern was exporting revolutions around the world is simply arguing in bad faith.
This reads like an exercise in rationalizing your own biases and wishes. Masks didn't suddenly start preventing viral infections in 2020, they've been used for more than half a century and we knew exactly how effective they were much before COVID19.
I'd love to see an honest research into what happens with these STEM olympiad wunderkindern when they grow up. Something tells me a tiny percentage actually achieves something, most of them burn out very early due to incredible pressure their parents subject them to in their early age.
This way of reasoning is like a Chinese finger trap. We are educating China's new (first?) generation of scientists, so if they stay here they'll somehow work for our benefit and not that of China, and if they go back then it's even worse supposedly.
How about we don't educate CCP's scientists at all? Knowledge is power and we are selling it wholesale to CCP.
