Awesome! I have also dabbled in AI-generated crosswords, but I was more fascinated with the concept of generating the most efficient layout of an X-by-X grid from a given word set. It's a surprisingly difficult optimization problem because the combinatorics are insane. Here's an example output trying to find the most efficient layout of common Linux terminal commands:

    W P G
    H I S T O R Y
    E O
    R T Y U M
  L E S S P
    I O C A T
  U S E R A D D
  L T R D C
Of course this is a pretty small grid and it gets more difficult with size. I've thought about making a competition from this sort of challenge. Would anyone be interested?

Moving walkways have a big power efficiency problem over a distance. While you can make a train track longer without decreasing the efficiency of the train, a moving walkway has to move that whole walkway. Can you imagine the friction on a 10 mile long moving walkway? You would need massive motors just to budge it.

Is that `./calculate_average_royvanrijn.sh`? It runs in 6.7s for me.

I would love it if you could run my solution and compare!

Under 2 seconds seems rather impossible on my machine since the disk maxes out at 5.1 GB/s. This one ran in 7.4s on my M3:

`bin/analyze measurements.txt 30.34s user 16.28s system 629% cpu 7.406 total`

Here's my implementation in Go, which runs in under 5 seconds. It doesn't use anything too obscure, only the built-in maps and no external libraries. It's also the fastest solution I've tested on my M3 Pro Mac. Eager to see what beats it!

Yes, it would be theft because the usage was clearly outside of the intended use of the system. This sort of thing has been tested in the courts before and likely falls under the realm of any bug exploit.

For another example, let’s say you were an employee of a retailer with the power to set a discount on certain items. You suddenly set a 100% discount on every item in the store and then buy all the inventory for $0. Try explaining to the police that you were actually fully within your legal right to do that.

My name’s Corlin and I own corl.in

I sign up for accounts with emails like [email protected] and that lets me easily filter and organize my inbox.

But when I have to tell some customer service rep my email they get very confused.
